Mix FM is your weekend dance station, playing the very best in dance genres. This includes: House, Garage, Bassline, Speed Garage, Drum&Bass, Funky House, Soulful House, Commercial Dance, Chart Dance and much more.
Mix FM has had a long history in the pirate radio scene from 1992 where it broadcasted from the top of a shop in Hinkley in the east midlands. Mix FM then moved to Birmingham in the west midlands in the year 1997 where it broadcasted from tower blocks all over Birmingham. The station broadcasted up until the year 2000,then Mix FM was only on here and their.
This carried on till the year 2013 when Mix FM returned to the airwaves broadcasting from tower blocks in the Birmingham area once again. Mix FM’s Frequency of choice was 106.4mhz. They continued broadcasting till the year 2015 (estimation) where the station owner of the time was prosecuted. Since this day Mix FM remand silent, however in recent years there has been activity on their frequency of 106.4 with no proof of it being Mix FM.
From that day there had been speculation that Mix FM would return to the airwaves and if so when?
